Gatekeepers churches Testimonials

Christ Chapel has been using the Gatekeeper program for almost 5 years now. Our experience with the program has been very positive. Having volunteers trained to stop an intruder and protect the flock and staff is huge to us! In today’s society churches are not a safe haven as many may have thought they were in years past. I believe congregations expect to be safe when they attend a worship service and the Gatekeeper program allows a church to provide that security at an affordable cost. The training has been a benefit to my volunteers. Complying with the law in the State of Texas is of course one of our top priorities and the Gatekeeper program allows us to do just that. I anticipate our relationship with Gatekeepers will extend far into the future.

In early 2013 our ministry leaders began taking steps to enhance the security of our church. As we began to research the subject of “church security” the National Organization of Church Security and Safety Management (NOCSSM) immediately came to the forefront. The more we looked into this organization, the more impressed we became. We also received a recommendation for NOCSSM from another local church.

In May of 2013 we partnered with NOCSSM to assist us in developing procedural guidelines, selecting the right individuals for our security team, and the training necessary to meet state requirements.

In August of 2013, eight of our men attended NOCSSM’s Christian Security Institute Level 2/3 and 4 security training school. After receiving state certifications as Commissioned Security Officers and Personal Protection Officers (PPOs), our security team deployed the first Sunday of February 2014. Since that time we’ve added three PPOs with two more expected to join our team later this year.

NOCSSM continues to provide multiple resources, opportunities for additional training, experience and expertise in the field of “church security”. They are sensitive to our needs and have been an invaluable partner in our effort to develop an effective, viable and legal security team.

Our church leaders and congregation have been very supportive. It’s common for our security team to receive words of appreciation on a regular basis.

Thanks NOCSSM!!
